SWEET TOOTH FIX IN NOLITA

Hello loved ones!

It's been such a long time and I miss you all so dearly! As promised on Instagram, I wanted to share with you where I went on this very day to get my sugar craving! Have you heard of the place called Rice to Riches located in Nolita? I've been meaning to go there since forever, and finally I had the honor of going for myself! Wow that stuff was good!!! It's so cute and funny in there, they have all these witty little phrases posted all over the store, and the rice pudding is just phenomenal! I'm getting hungry at the thought of it now.. haha I didn't post any Rice to Riches stuff here, but I'm in the neighborhood of the store, and I thought this theme was just so fitting with the whole dessert idea. Anyways I felt like a little kid in a candy store today.. lots of fun! Hope you're getting your sweet fill in too!

STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, ARIZONA *ROUTE66

Get your kicks on Route66 ~

I always dreamed about roadtripping all across the great ol' America, and I finally had the chance to do this this summer. What a lucky girl I am, two extended vacations in one summer, haha God bless. My trip consists of the southern western tip of America -- Las Vegas, Nevada / Grand Canyon, Arizona / and parts of California I am still contemplating in my mind =)

I really loved Route 66 even before I got here. I have a red, fringed Route 66 shirt I love wearing all the time, which you may remember seeing from my previous blogs.. I oftentimes go to Barnes and Noble to open up Route 66 travel books and just daydream. Finally my dreams became a reality!

In these photos, I took a pitstop en route to Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. I have so much footage from the whole trip, I'm really excited and looking forward to sharing them all very soon!) We took a pitstop at a quaint little German cafe on an exit off in the middle of nowhere, Route 66. The people were all so friendly, hospitable, and unlike brassy New Yorkers =P.

Just to note, the southwest coast is very dry so if you ever plan on visiting, you must hydrate, moisterize, sunblock, and repeat constantly. I even went so far as buying decongestant nasal spray, which was very useful by the way. Arizona is scorchingly flaming.. and I still feel my skin scaling from all the dryness of the place. But I really really love Arizona! I feel like I'm in the movie Thelma and Louise roadtripping all around the border of the country, trying to escape to Mexico, fleeing from the cops. Except, I'm not really going to Mexico, and I didn't commit any crimes! Ha!

RUNNING ALL AROUND MIDTOWN MANHATTAN IN MY LITTLE BLACK DRESS

Hello loves! 

Today marks haerina blogging history, and this entry is officially the longest entry I've ever created in my life. I have footage that follows me throughout the day, even I get overwhelmed looking back on it myself.. and it's my own day! 

To start things off, the weather in New York is transitioning from a steamy hot to a crisp cool autumn. This is usually the perfect time for outfits, but it's also a confusing time.. I want to wear fur vests, shorts, capes, and skirts, but I'm not sure what the weather really has in store for me. Today, I just took the risk, and I finally finally finally got to wear the French Connection autumn dress I got from Macy's at the 80% discount rack! I paid a fraction of the price, and I was anticipating on wearing it day after day. My Eugenia Kim boots also made its debut on this very day.. these shoes are literally a one of a kind, and it doesn't exists anywhere else in the world! I felt soooo special wearing them. Maybe it was a combination of the two items I've been eagerly waiting to wear, I felt like exploring and being out!

I started off at Bryant Park for a little relaxation.. in the summer a lot of New Yorkers like to just chill out in the sun. There aren't any beaches in Manhattan, so in lieu of that, I think people like to bum out on the stretches of grasslands at parks. Bryant Park brings me so many memories.. of high school, of last summer, of my girlfriends, boyfriend.. the first NYFW I observed.. so many nostalgic feelings. When I'm walking there it's like I'm going back in time. 

I meandered around midtown a bit and found myself in Times Square, probably the world's most shiniest, brightest, lit place. I love Times Square, which is totally not a New Yorker thing.. I'm really touristic at heart, and I marvel at all the lights and wonder how did they make this beautiful place? Did you know that Times Square used to have more driving lanes, but the city closed those driving lanes down for pedestrians to just hang out in? I personally like this move because I like a place to sit down and relax in the city, even though I'm sure it's a nightmare driving in those narrow downed streets. 

When I look back at these photos, I think gosh, New York is really cool.. and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have this city as my playground. Oh yes! I went to Toys R Us in Times Square for the first time, and it was so fun! I really recommend anyone to go and take a trip down childhood memory lane. They have impressive installations, candy, toys, and many other goods! 

I had so much fun today, and I felt really happy to be a part of New York City.

SKYLIGHT @ MOYNIHAN STATION

Today is NYFW Day 6. Fashion Week here in New York is almost over! The festivities and events continue on for a month over select cities in other parts of the world, but the party kicks off here. This year, things were shaken up a bit. On last minute, Mercedes Benz slipped as the NYFW sponsor, and instead Lexus took its glorious place. Last year, and a few years before that, NYFW was located at Lincoln Center. This year, the main locations were Milk Studios in Chelsea, and the Skylight @ Moynihan Station.  Today I finally had a chance to drop by the Skylight Moynihan Station, and I felt like I was a big part of New Yorker history.

Today this distinguished, stone-stepped, magnificent structure stands strong, famously known as the James Farley Post Office. The building erected in 1914, and to this day houses as one of America's biggest, most active post offices. The building was designed by the same architects as the Penn Station right next to it. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan had visions of connecting trail and rail, and spoke of expanding Penn Station out to the post office building. Today Penn Station and the James Farley Post Office are separate entities, but in the near-future, Moynihan Station is the next visionary project the city that never sleeps has in mind to expand.

This week, Skylight @ Moynihan Station proudly stood as the location of the NYFW fashion shows. You know, in an interview one time, Anna Wintour had said, if you pay attention to a Vogue magazine, from cover to cover, you can understand the social, political, economical atmosphere of the time. The westside of New York is extensively developing lately.. There's a new station at 11th Avenue and 34th Street, called the Hudson Yards (and you know, I'll be doing a photoshoot there for you shortly!). I feel that this location decision NYFW made this year was strategic, and I wonder what else Anna has in stored for us next.
